Iqbal has been a coach in the Southern Punjab region and ESPNcricinfo understands that the charge, which came to the PCB’s notice last week, is related to a claim of sexual harassment. It is also the subject of an ongoing police investigation.Iqbal comes from the same region as Waqar Younis and played alongside the fast bowling great in domestic cricket in the late 80s and 90s. It was thought by a few at the time that he was a more promising prospect than Waqar, in particular because of his ability to swing the new ball. He never, however, made the step up to international cricket. Iqbal played his last game of professional cricket in March 2004. He finished with 258 wickets in 80 first-class matches and 65 wickets in 49 List A matches.Iqbal was appointed as a coach for the Southern Punjab region by a previous PCB administration. Although he remained on the board’s payroll, he hadn’t been involved in any of the numerous coaching programmes the PCB runs for the last couple of years.

One player United look keen to sign either in this transfer window or in the summer is Paris Saint-Germain left-back Nuno Mendes. The Portuguese has become a top priority for the Premier League side, as they look to bring in a new left wing-back to address that area of their team, as Ruben Amorim continues to rely on Diogo Dalot to fill the void. Reports have emerged this week that United want to accelerate transfer talks for the defender, as Real Madrid and Man City lurk in the background.
Another player that United might look to sign this month if an opportunity presents itself is RB Salzburg’s Nene Dorgeles. Fabrizio Romano has reported that United are monitoring the attacker, and he is among their list of options for either this transfer window or the summer. Romano goes on to add that initial talks have been held to get an understanding of the price and the overall package, and it is now down to United to decide what they want to do.

Mendes and Dorgeles are not the only players the Premier League side could look to sign this month, as according to talkSPORT’s Alex Crook, Man United are interested in signing Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, a few years after he turned down a move to Old Trafford.
The 22-year-old looked set to join the Red Devils in the summer of 2023 from Japanese club Urawa Red Diamonds, but in the end, he turned down the move as he didn’t want to be second choice behind Andre Onana. Instead, Suzuki joined Belgian side Sint-Truiden on loan before Italian side Parma snapped him up last summer.
The goalkeeper has been a standout performer in Italy, earning some rave reviews, and that has now placed him back on United’s radar. Crook reports that the Red Devils are among the teams interested in signing Suzuki, and it could cost them as much as £40 million to secure his services.

Prithvi Shaw’s robust second-innings 44 has given them just a glimmer, but there’s a mountain to climb.That is because Rajat Patidar and MP’s lower order extended Mumbai’s agony on the field to 177.2 overs in which they made 536, securing a first-innings lead of 162. After a forgettable IPL 2022 campaign, Mumbai Indians are all set to start their preparations in earnest for the next edition, with a three-week exposure tour of England in July for their uncapped Indian players.Apart from enjoying training at various state-of-the-art facilities, the Indian youngsters of Mumbai will be playing at least ten T20 games against top club sides across multiple counties.”Tilak Varma, Kumar Kartikeya, Ramandeep Singh, Hrithik Shokeen are some of the players who will get exposure playing against top T20 club sides in trying conditions,” an IPL insider privy to the development told PTI. “Arjun Tendulkar, who is also in the UK and South African youngster Dewald Brevis are also likely to join the touring party.”The Mumbai support staff, including head coach Mahela Jayawardene, will be in England to oversee the progress of the Indian players.”Look, the Indian domestic season has come to an end,” the source said. “While the top players like skipper Rohit Sharma, premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah will be now on the road with the national team, our international stars will also be busy with their respective commitments. Segundo explicações dos executivos da empresa, a nova Arena seria para 30 mil torcedores com assentos cobertos e 500 vagas de estacionamento. Os valores do negócio giram em torno de R$ 400 milhões, com a WTorre atuando como gestora do estádio pelos próximos 30/35 anos.
Para viabilizar a obra, também será feita a venda antecipada de 5 mil cadeiras e camarotes premium para geração de receitas . O Santos não colocaria dinheiro na construção. A expectativa é que o custo operacional anual gire em torno de R$ 8 milhões.
A busca de investimento no mercado é 100% da WTorre e 100% investidos no CAPEX. Usando como exemplo o Allianz Parque,as cadeiras vendidas possuem prazo de posse de 10 a 15 anos. Donos de cadeiras cativas permanecerão com suas cadeiras por se tratar de direito adquirido.
Previsão
Em paralelo, as duas partes vão iniciar os processos de aprovação nos órgãos competentes da Prefeitura de Santos e a construtora vai ao mercado para a captação de recursos para o financiamento da obra. Depois de todas as aprovações, o prazo para a construção da Arena é de 24 meses.
Caso o projeto seja aprovado pelos Conselheiros do clube, ainda com data não definida, os sócios também terão direito de voto para aprovação final.

It is believed Monchi and NSWE have submitted an improved offer for Borussia Dortmund’s Donyell Malen (Sky Germany), which is still short of the Bundesliga side’s valuation, while other media sources claim Villa are very keen on signing PSG forward Marco Asensio as another option.

Their pursuit of an attacker comes amid PSG’s interest in a winter deal for star striker Jhon Duran, who has impressed under Emery with 12 goals in all competitions despite being behind Ollie Watkins in the pecking order and starting just four Premier League games this season.
Emery says that Aston Villa are “working” on imminent incomings, and while they’ve largely been tipped to bring in forward options, there are also suggestions that a new centre-back is on the cards.
Villa are said to be targeting Celta Vigo defender Oscar Mingueza, and it could even happen this window (Football Insider). However, a deal could be difficult to pull off, as the La Liga side are expected to demand a hefty fee to let their star centre-back depart in the middle of the 2024/25 campaign.
Emery reportedly wants two quality players in each position at Villa (Pete O’Rourke), but the club’s finances are set to make recruitment tricky before deadline day.

In some good news, Villa are thought to be closing in on their first January signing, according to Turkish newspaper A Spor.
Indeed, it is believed Villa have agreed a €8m (£7m) deal for Kasimpasa defender Yasin Ozcan, who is set to make his way to England in the coming days and put pen to paper on a deal next week.
The centre-back could return to the Süper Lig outfit on loan for the rest of 2024/25, or even fully link up with Emery’s squad for this season, depending on developments.
The 18-year-old, who was called up to the Turkey national squad for the first time in November, featuring on the bench against Montenegro, has been a pivotal mainstay for Kasimpasa this season.
Ozcan boasts 17 league starts, and goalkeeper Andreas Gianniotis is the only Kasimpasa player who’s played more Turkish top-flight minutes than the teenager.
Taking his age into account, this is quite impressive, and it appears Villa may be about to secure themselves a real gem.
